About BCA
Building Conservation Associates, Inc. is a consulting firm that specializes in both the technical and historical aspects of restoring buildings and works of art. BCA also assists clients in the preparation of federal rehabilitation tax credit applications. BCA's approach to conservation is pragmatic, combining field documentation, archival research, materials testing, and scientific research to satisfy project requirements without compromising quality.
Since its founding in 1985, BCA has maintained an experienced staff of preservationists, conservators, scientists, architects, historians, planners, and artisans. BCA has developed a reputation for its practical approach in the fields of historic preservation and materials conservation.
BCA is comprised of BCA NY, BCA New England, and BCA South.
BCA New York
Building Conservation Associates, Inc.'s New York office is meeting the needs of architects, owners, developers, and local and state government of the tri-state area. Opened in 1985 in the South Street Seaport by Raymond M. Pepi, BCA has grown into a full service firm with New York as the headquarters for all of its research and scientific endeavors.

BCA New England
BCA's second branch opened in 1995 to service the needs of the New England community. Led by Lisa Howe, BCA New England provides a broad range of preservation services and has become one of the most well known conservation firms in the region, with a particular expertise in historic finishes analysis.

BCA South
BCA's third branch opened in 2007 under the direction of Dorothy S. Krotzer to service the needs of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States. The BCA South office provides a wide range of preservation services with significant experience in the analysis of historic building materials such as paint and mortar, conditions assessments and restoration design, and historic preservation master plans.The office is located near Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood, a National Register Historic District. In 2018, BCA South opened a satellite office in Virginia.
